Laylat al-Qadr (The Night of Decree) is one of the holiest nights in Islam, believed to be the night when the Qur’an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is described in the Qur’an as “better than a thousand months” (Surah Al-Qadr, 97:3), meaning that worship on this night carries immense rewards. Muslims dedicate this night, which falls within the last ten nights of Ramadan, to intense prayer, Dhikr (remembrance of Allah), recitation of the Qur’an, and seeking forgiveness. It is a time to reflect on one’s faith, make sincere Dua (supplication), and strengthen one’s connection with Allah. Celebrating Laylat al-Qadr allows believers to seek divine mercy, guidance, and blessings, as it is believed that Allah decrees the fate of individuals for the coming year. The spiritual significance of this night inspires Muslims to deepen their devotion and strive for righteousness in their lives.
