PILLARS OF ISLAM

The Five Pillars of Islam are the fundamental acts of worship that form the foundation of a Muslim’s faith and practice. They include Shahada (faith), which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger; Salah (prayer), the obligation to perform five daily prayers to maintain a direct connection with Allah; Zakat (charity), the duty to give a portion of one’s wealth to those in need, promoting social justice and solidarity; Sawm (fasting), observed during the month of Ramadan to cultivate self-discipline, gratitude, and spiritual growth; and Hajj (pilgrimage), the journey to Mecca that every Muslim who is physically and financially able must undertake at least once in their lifetime. These pillars guide Muslims in their daily lives, reinforcing their faith, ethical values, and sense of community.
